Dedicated to providing a lifestyle for the domestic horse based on their innate physical and social needs. Livery as it SHOULD be!
The horse evolved over a time period of around 55 million years as a free range, social herd animal, covering an average of 15 miles a day everyday in their search for food and avoiding predators. This is the high level of fitness that nature demands. The average domestic horse covers around 5 miles a day, even less if stabled. Their fitness pales in comparison to the free roaming natural horse.
Many hundreds of thousands of domestic horses suffer from the ill effects of this compromised lifestyle.
Natural Horse Care is a return to a way of life that is normal for the horse.
Here at the Natural Horse Centre we are dedicated to bridging that gap by implementing systems of horse management based on studies of the animal in its natural state.
We aim to: Reduce the compromise of domestication.Provide an environment that maintains and promotes health.Provide a system that is less labour intensive, benefiting both you and your horse.
