Sue Stopforth and husband Andre live on the outskirts of Southport in West Lancashire with their two house cats "Tog" and "Junior".

Sue is passionate about all animals but has always harboured a strong love for horses. She began riding over 30 years ago and in that time has had the priviledge of looking after and riding some wonderful horses. Currently she gets her horse fix by volunteering at a local horse welfare charity called Jigsaw whose residents have been a great inspiration, overcoming sometimes major emotional and physical issues yet still willing to forgive humans for what we have done to them.
She is a fully qualified and insured Reiki Master and also teaches Equine Reiki both locally and at Myerscough College. Outside of Reiki she holds a Diploma in Holistic Animal Healing and as completed Equine Touch training to level 2. She has also been fortunate enough to see great natural horsemen such as Pat Parelli and Monty Roberts in action who are helping bring horsemanship back to basics. However she has not turned her back on more conventional methods of horsecare. She has obtained her BHS NVQ 1 and completed a Health and safety working with horses certificate with Warwickshire College.
With a scientific background, she is a radiographer specialising in CT scanning and has even scanned cats and dogs for a veterinary referral hospital, Sue is also interested in orthodox veterinary medicine.  One of her main aims is to build bridges with the veterinary profession so that they see Reiki as, when used appropriately, a useful tool in maintaining the health of animals.

Andre is also a fully qualified Reiki Master with a special interest in animals. He loves all animals but has a special bond with cats. This led to him fulfilling his ambition to run a boarding cattery when in 2006 Pear Tree Cattery opened its doors to its first residents. Running the cattery is a 24/7 job so Sue undertakes most of the Reiki sessions. However, Andre is the person you will most probably speak to first when contacting us.
